Combe Hay:
On another brass-plate in the chancel floor: "Heere lyeth the body of Robert Pierce, Bachelor in Divinity, once rector of this place, who died Apr. 7, 1641, aged 49. He married Elizabeth daughter of Chidiock Tutt, esq; who (after 16 yeares widowhood) died at Cheston in Hartfordshire, Aug. 8, 1657, aged 60." Arms, a bend raguly between two unicorns j impaling quarterly effaced.
